Well I was not let down by the weather for the weekend, apart from a fairly cool stiff breeze from the North it was OK. I got out on the ZRX and it has 600mls on the clock so is now ready for its first service. The dealer can't do it until Thursday so I'm grounded now till then. Gwyn came with me on Monday, we went to the bikers cafe at Sherburn in Elmet. This may well be her last ride on her ER5 before the GPZ500S arrives.

I have bought a pair of paddock stands to aid cleaning the ZRX as there is no centre stand and the side stand leaves a lot to be desired. You can see them HERE

Well the 10 days has past and there is no sign of Gwyn's new bike. She is beginning to "chomp at the bit" waiting for it. She rang the dealer yesterday and they said it may be next week! I wonder if it is because we have ordered a black one? Every GPZ500 I've seen either in showrooms or on adverts has been blue. I went to Carnell's in Grimsby at the weekend and they have 3 in - all blue.

Got a couple of good rides in at the weekend as we had a mini heatwave here. The ZRX has 930mls on the clock now. I still have not managed to get the bike to 6,000rpm in top gear and through the gears the bike has so much grunt there is little point in revving much above 4,000rpm so the last part of the running in has been purely academic - WONDERFUL!

Gwyn went away for the weekend, she was hoping to go on the new bike but as it had not arrived she went in the car. However, I was at her house Saturday morning getting ready to go for a ride when the phone rang. It was the dealers saying "When are you going to bring in the insurance for the new bike so that we can tax it?". "When it arrives" I said. "But it's here sir - ready to pick up" they said.

There was obviously a breakdown in communications somwhere as when Gwyn rang she gat the impression it would be next week. I could not get the insurance sorted on Saturday so we picked the bike up yesterday.
