Well, the weather here over the last two weeks has not been very good for biking so we have not really been anywhere.

I took the zrx for it's 4,000ml service last week, the bill was £104 some £22 less than the 4,000ml service on the Fazer. I don't really understand why this should be as I think the "to do" list is very similar.

As I put the bike back in the garage after the service I saw a screw stuck in the rear tyre! Where do these things come from??? It had gone into one of the tread blocks at a very shallow angle. There seemed to be a lot still sticking out and I thought there could not be much actually in the tyre so I pulled it out. The screw was very long and there was quite a bit in the tyre. However, because of the angle it had gone in at the tyre did not deflate.

I now had a dilemma! How far into the tyre carcass did the thing go? How far from puncturing the tyre was the hole? Would it hold up on fast cornering? I decided the safest thing to do would be to replace the tyre. Of course being in Hull I could not get a tyre off the shelf even though the BT020 180x55x17 is a common fitting on many bikes so I had to order one. The dealer cannot fit it until Thursday 16th.

We are going on Holiday on Saturday back to the cottage we rented in Matlock last year. The weather forecast for Saturday is not good but fingers crossed. If it is really bad we will go in the car and come back to collect the bike on a better day. It's only 90mls from home so it will be easy to go and swap the car for the bikes.

I received my credit card bill the other day and M&P had indeed refunded all the monies paid for the screen(s) for Gwyn's bike (glad that's over).
